Bill Helm, AOBTA® Certified Instructor

Bill Helm is the Director of the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego, American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA)® Certified Instructor and Senior Faculty at Eastern Medicinal Therapies Education Center.

An ordained Taoist Priest, Bill has been studying Chinese martial and healing arts since 1965. He specializes in Taijiquan, Tuina (Chinese Bodywork), Qigong and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Bill is a 20th-generation Indoor Disciple of Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang and holds a 6th Duan Wei from Chinese Wushu Association.

Bill has also studied with Taijiquan Master Chen Xiaoxing, Master Chen Zhiquang, Master Ren Guangyi and Master Chen Bing. He continues to travel periodically to Chen Village, the birthplace of Chen Style Taijiquan, to deepen his practice and refine his transmission of the art.

His academic training in Traditional Chinese Medicine includes studies at the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Beijing Olympic Training Center. In the United States, Bill pursued advanced Taoist healing and martial studies under Taoist Master Share K. Lew and Dr. Yu Da Fang, further enriching his integration of internal cultivation and external therapeutic techniques.

Bill brings over five decades of teaching and clinical experience to his students and clients, blending classical Taoist wisdom with a practical, modern approach to healing and embodied living.
