ROOT AND BRANCH TECHNIQUES
with Dennis Willmont

Saturday-Sunday, January 26-27, 2018
10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

This course shows how classical Five Phase relationships can be applied to both Tonification and Dispersion treatments in acupuncture to produce a more dynamic result.  These treatments can take the form of either One Needle, Two Needle, or Four Needle techniques and form the basis for the more sophisticated use of the Root and Branch Treatments that follow.

To show how the One Needle Technique can be used in Root and Branch Treatment, forty-four different symptomatic treatments are examined from the perspective of integrating TCM, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese styles of acupuncture.  These perspectives include the Five Phases, the energetic functions of the points, and the meaning of the pointnames for each treatment.

This course covers the following:

  1. Introduces the Five Phase relationships of the acupuncture points on each of the Main Meridians.

  2. Details how this basic understanding can be used to form the classical Inter-Phase relationships to connect the meridians as a whole.

  3. Shows how these relationships can be applied to the One Needle, Two Needle, or Four Needle techniques.

  4. Describes the importance of Root and Branch Treatment that is necessary to reach the Three Levels of Healing that makes acupuncture so important and unique.
